In collaboration with the POLARISATION project (http://site.uit.no/polarization) a long term experiment was initiated in June 2014 by Dr. Jasmine Nahrgang to study the chronic effect of crude oil exposure on adult polar cod.

The data generated will give new insights in the effect of low doses of petroleum compounds in a key Arctic fish species and the potential ecological cascading effects of a population showing decrease in survival and fitness.

Also the data will help fulfilling the goals of WP3/task 3.3 on Sensitivity of key species within northern ecosystems and be further used in the modelling system SYMBIOSES (WP3/task 3.4).
